I have been playing the piano for most of my life (except for my twenties when I did not have access to a piano).   I usually play the piano every day anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.  I started out playing classical music as a young teenager and then eventually expanded my abilities greatly by learning how to play solo piano from a lead sheet or fake book in my early thirties.  With this method, I can learn a song quickly in a few sessions by making my own accompaniment in my left hand.  Many songs, I can play perfectly the first time through!  This has greatly expanded my enjoyment of music.  

At one time, I was a music major and I completed several university classes in music.  I especially loved the harmony and music theory classes as I have always had an interest in composing and arranging music.  I enjoy the many styles and genres of music-- especially standards and contemporary pop/rock/folk music.   I have a long background in teaching and would love to pass my interest and love of music to you.  I am interested in students of all abilities and ages. If you are in your forties and beyond and you have regrets about not "sticking to the piano", then I know you will benefit from my instruction.  It is never too late to learn how to play and enjoy the piano!
